We are a small business located near Fort Lauderdale, FL. Owned and operated since summer of 2014. Our mission is to provide handmade soaps and beauty products that contain ingredients that you can recognize and pronounce! 5% of our profits are donated each year towards supporting music in our community as the founder is a musician and a lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota, Music Fraternity.
Our homemade products contain no petroleum products. We strive to purchase our resources from companies that do not test on animals. We support fair trade businesses wherever possible.
Our product line is NUT OIL FREE and detergent FREE.
Most of our soap line is also palm oil FREE.
We do our best to keep our prices low by soaping with oils our mothers would have heard of such as coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, and grapeseed oil.
We also work with wonderful butters such as cocoa butter, shea butter and mango butter. They make the bars so smooth and creamy!
A note about titanium dioxide:
In an effort to provide beautifully designed soaps for our customers, we occasionally use titanium dioxide to create the color white.
Please see this quote from http://www.organicmakeup.ca/ca/titaniumdioxide.asp:
“Titanium dioxide is listed as a safe pigment, with no known adverse effects when used in cosmetics, and approved by the FDA when 99% pure. It is not listed as a carcinogen, mutagen, teratogen, comedogen, toxin or as a trigger for contact dermatitis in any other safety regulatory publications beside the NIOSH (Antczak, 2001; Physical & Theoretical Chemical Laboratory, Oxford University respectively), with the exception of the recent IARC designation. It is reasonable to conclude then, that titanium dioxide is not a cancer-causing substance unless exposure is beyond safe limits during manufacturing using this substance. It is considered safe for use in foods, drugs, paints and cosmetics.”
